Hale Community Ministries

Volunteers from local churches are needed for the following:

Prayer
Someone to provide occasional computer support.
Perform light maintenance work on HCM buildings
Perform yard maintenance/landscaping at HCM building
LYNNRIDGE: Individual or group to clean Lynnridge office once/week, once/month, or however often you can help!
Serve as "tour guides" for summer mission teams (help them locate their ministry site, a grocery store or Wal-mart; recommend good restaurants or things to do during their off time, etc.)

Local churches can be of assistance by:

hosting a summer mission team (providing lodging, etc.)
providing financially
providing prayer support

Volunteers are available to speak to your church about the ways the Lord in working at HCM and the specific areas of ministry where you can serve.

Your prayer support is an essential element in helping HCM successfully serve our community in the name of Christ. Specific requests, as well as information on how you can become a member of our support team, are available on the Prayer page of this website.

HCM typically serves those who are struggling financially. Monetary contributions by both churches and individuals enable us to assist with the payment of utility and medical bills for those in need. Contributions may be mailed to Becky Brumitt, HCM, 1301 Arney St., Elizabethton, TN 37643.

Teams are needed throughout the summer to lead off-site Backyard Bible Clubs, consisting of Bible Study (you provide curriculum--but NOT VBS material), games, crafts, music, sports, clown and/or puppet ministries. May feed children lunch. Backyard Bible Club may be in partnership with a local church. Teams are also needed for such things as leading block parties/family nights, special ministries (help at a partnering food bank, nursing home visits, community evangelism, Appalachian Trail ministry, etc.)

Teams will need to provide their own lodging, transportation, food, and ministry supplies (e.g., craft and recreational materials). Teams are needed for 1 week periods in June and July.

Housing options for teams include Family Life Center or fellowship hall of a local church, local schools, or area hotels . Placement is based on size of team, location of assigned ministry, and needs of the group.
